Enai is an independent, sustainable-focused hotel concept on the Madre de Dios river in the Peruvian rainforest, in close proximity to Puerto Maldonado.
This endeavour of four friends from Europe and Peru, who first visited this place 15 years ago and fell in love with the beauty of the Amazon area and its wildlife, is now a reality – Enai!
The dream is driven by a passion to sustain, protect, share and improve the local culture and the environment through a sustainable hotel development.
Enai, which means river in the native tatinawa language, offers its guests authentic rainforest experiences, starting within the hotel’s grounds, while also providing the necessary comfort and tranquillity to unwind, with a new restaurant concept in the area, serving local, culinary delights of the Peruvian rainforest cuisine, created by Peruvian native Chefs.
Enai is a lifestyle in the midst of the Peruvian Amazon that has activities, tours, the best of Peruvian cuisine, comfort mixed with nature. Dining is a very special experience in Enai. There are a variety of flavors and ingredients that are born in Enai, we have our own orchard and all the knowledge in the preparation of one of the most famous gastronomies in the world.
It is important for us that Enai can help to maintain the amazing nature, the animals, the river and the culture of Puerto Maldonado. Thinking about this we decided to work with the population of Puerto Maldonado and its authorities. On this journey, we have partnered with local artisans and the community so that Enai helps and participates in the local economy.
Enai focuses on wildlife conservation, reforestation and local employment. The hotel partners with local businesses and organizations, uses local and sustainable approaches to build its furniture, manage the surroundings and oversees significant land to avoid exploitation of the amazon; our architecture is designed to conserve energy, and the hotels own organic farm is packed with edibles all cared for using sustainable agricultural practices, served in the hotel’s restaurant.
